Course Overview

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Train the Trainer Certification will give you an understanding of delivering and assessing training in the workplace.

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
  • Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
  • Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
  • Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking
  • Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding
  • Understand how to provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock
  • Understand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries

Duration:
6 hours (plus additional 4 hours if attending practical assessment session)

Assessment:
This course will be assessed through online multiple choice questions. However, we do recommend that learners attend one of our monthly Paediatric First Aid Practical Assessment Sessions held at our Training Centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

Certification:
On completing this course you will receive an accredited Emergency Paediatric First Aid Train the Trainer Certification, valid for 2 years.

Accreditation:
This course is accredited by CPD At Work. On completing it you will achieve 6 hours recognised CPD.

Train the Trainer Certification

The Train the Trainer Certification will give you a foundational understanding of delivering and assessing training in the workplace. This course only has to be completed once every 2 years.

You will learn how to:

  • Understand the importance of identifying learning needs
  • Plan for a training session effectively
  • Deliver teaching and learning effectively.
  • Understand the role of assessment and how to carry out assessment
  • Be aware of common ‘Do’s and don’ts’ when delivering training

4 hours

Assessment:
This course is assessed online through multiple choice questions

Certification:
On completing this course you will receive an accredited Train the Trainer Certification, valid for 2 years.

Accreditation:
This course is accredited by CPD At Work. On completing it you will achieve 4 hours recognised CPD.

Practical Assessment Session

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid Train the Trainer Courses includes optional attendance at one of our monthly practical assessment sessions.

Once you’ve booked your course you’ll be able to directly book onto one of these sessions through our online portal.

The session covers practical elements of first aid including:

  • Primary Survey
  • Recovery Position
  • CPR and AED
  • Dealing with minor wounds

Whilst not mandatory, we do strongly recommend attendance at these sessions as it allows trainers an opportunity to demonstrate their practical competencies and also learn about ways to deliver their own practical sessions to learners.
