Delivered through a blended learning approach, the course seamlessly integrates self-paced online learning with a focused, practical training session at our training centre in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

The qualification is designed to ensure participants are well-equipped to handle a wide range of first aid scenarios, from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies. Course Structure

Online Learning Component:

The online portion of the qualification covers all necessary theoretical foundations of emergency first aid. This flexible online format allows participants to absorb and revisit the course material at their own pace, ensuring a deep and comprehensive understanding of each topic.

Practical Training Session:

Following the completion of the online theory component, participants will attend a one-day practical session at our Tamworth, Staffordshire training centre. This session is designed to solidify the online learning outcomes through hands-on practice. Under the guidance of our expert trainers, participants will engage in realistic first aid scenarios, practicing and refining the skills necessary to manage emergencies confidently until professional medical assistance arrives.

Course Units

The course covers a range of first aid topics, including:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an incident
  • Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

Course Assessment

To ensure you’re fully prepared to become a qualified first aider, our course includes assessments in both the online and practical components:

Online Assessments: Quizzes and interactive activities integrated into the online theory component to test your understanding of key first aid principles.

Practical Assessment:

During the one-day session at our training centre, you’ll demonstrate your first aid skills in a series of practical assessments, guided by our expert instructors.

Written Assessment:

As part of your practical assessment day, you’ll complete written assessment part of your qualification which will be based on a combination of the theory and practical activities you’ve completed.

Upon successful completion of both the online and practical assessments, you’ll receive a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, recognised across the UK as a benchmark of first aid competence.

Certification

On successful completion of this course you will be awarded the Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF). This is an OFQUAL regulated qualification awarded through TQUK. The qualification is valid for 3 years.

Is the content compliant with UK regulations and standards?

Our Emergency First Aid Train the Trainer online course is meticulously designed and mapped to the standards of the Regulated Qualification in Emergency First Aid. While we closely follow the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and the guidelines set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), we’ve also ensured that the course content aligns with the requisites of the regulated qualification. This means that trainers, upon completing this course, are well-prepared to deliver training that meets the benchmarks set for emergency first aid in the UK.

Are there assessments or exams?

The course includes online, automarked assessments to test your knowledge and ensure you fully understand the content.

Will I receive a certificate upon completing the course?

Yes, after successfully completing the course, each participant will be awarded an accredited certificate in Emergency First Aid Train the Trainer valid for 2 years. This certification not only serves as a testament to your expanded skills and knowledge in Emergency First Aid training but also enhances your credibility as a trainer in this specialised area.

For that, you would additionally need a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a regulated First Aid qualification in First Aid at Work (RQF).
